CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS

The St. Joseph Knights of Columbus and Ladies Guild offers Catholic scholarships to graduating high school seniors and home school students on a competitive basis. Scholarships will be awarded based on service to the church, as well as activities and leadership in the church, school and community. The dollar amount has not been determined.
To qualify, you must be an active member or daughter/son or dependent of a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Springfield. You also must graduate from high school or complete home schooling in the 2019-20 academic year. Finally, you must be accepted at a 2- or 4-year college or vocational school.
Applications are available in the Knights of Columbus mailbox. You can return your typed and signed application to the Knights mailbox by 10 a.m. on March 15, 2020. Disbursement will be made upon verification of college attendance. You may contact Kevin Schuster at kevin.schuster@ymail.com with questions.

CHILI COOK-OFF

The Knight’s of Columbus, along with the Ladies Guild, will be sponsoring a Chili Cook-Off Contest on January 25th (Saturday) after 5 PM Mass.  We’re looking for 10 individuals/families/groups that want to compete.  All you have to do is bring 2 gallons of your favorite chili to be judged and shared with others.  If you want to compete please send an email to michaelfowler@q.com and/or       terry@apollohomes.com and/or pwhite12@q.com.  Once we have 10 people willing to compete we’ll turn it off.  It’ll be a fun time for all and a great meal will be offered on a cold winter night.  We will have a basket available for free will donations to support the One Rose One Life campaign that will be running that weekend.  The best part is the Ladies Guild will be providing desserts.

UPDATING OUR MEMBER DIRECTORY
It is that time again, we have had several changes throughout our parish and it is time to update our member directory.  The campaign will kick off in January; however, we want you to provide us your family photo.  What better time to do that than the holidays. Please provide us a horizontal photo with a plain background, perhaps a solid colored wall or the outside of your house.  The photo needs to be at least 3 inches by 2 inches.  We can always decrease the size if they are larger.  If you are not sure if one will work, just submit it via email and we will let you know.  You can email the photos to stjoedirectory@gmail.com

If you do not email, you can submit your photo in the box in the Narthex of the church.  Please include your name and phone number with the photo. If you are not able to provide us a photo, we will have a limited amount of time set up to take photos at the church.  We will publish the dates as January gets closer.

PLEASE NOTE

If you need to reach the church secretary, (Sharon VanTassell) the email address has changed. Please email us secretary68059@gmail.com
